Congress Has Reached A New $900 Billion Stimulus Package

Happy Monday All!

We have a new stimulus deal that was passed ($900 billion) and below I will give you all the information you need to know about the new deal.

This deal was passed as the last stimulus deal in March was set to end December 26th, and should continue for the next 11 weeks.

  • So what is in the new stimulus?
    • Small business relief approximately $284 billion for forgivable paycheck protection
    • $600 dollar check to most Americans (like last time if you make $75,000 and up your $600 will be reduced as your income climbs and you will not see one if you made over $100K in 2019)
    • Extras unemployment money, unlike the first stimulus package this will add $300 extra (down from the $600) to your unemployment benefits, I am unsure how long this benefit will last
    • Tax-credit to employers offering paid sick leave to employees
    • $82 billion to schools and colleges to help them run and open safely
    • $10 billion to assist with childcare assistance
    • $25 billion in rental assistance and an extension on eviction moratorium
    • $20 billion to small business grants
    • $15 billion to live event venues
    • $13 billion to SNAP programs to help food insecurity
    • $7 billion to enhance broadband connection to help people who are working remotely
    • There are also billions going to the covid-19 vaccine initiative
    • And more.....
What was NOT in the stimulus.....Student Loan Relief.... remember my post on that here?  Yea, I would do a deep dive.

Feel free to read more here and here for extra details to keep abreast on what is happening around covid relief!

Later!!!!
